SAFARI SCHEDULE

Day 1: Nairobi City Tour

Upon arriving in Nairobi, you will be met at the airport by your driver-guide and given a short briefing about the exciting week ahead. From the airport, you head straight to Nairobi National Park, one of the only wildlife reserves in the world located within a capital city. Enjoy a leisurely morning game drive across the open savannah, where you may encounter lions, rhinos, buffalo, giraffes, and numerous antelope species roaming freely against the dramatic skyline of Nairobi.

By late morning, you proceed to the Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage, arriving by noon to witness the young rescued elephants being bottle-fed and playing in the mud. The keepers share heartwarming stories of each calf’s rescue and rehabilitation, giving you an intimate look into conservation work.

In the afternoon, continue to the Giraffe Centre, home to the endangered Rothschild giraffe. Here you get the chance to interact with these gentle giants from an elevated platform even feeding them by hand.

After this full and engaging first day, you head back to your hotel in Nairobi for a relaxing evening and a peaceful overnight stay. (Dinner this night is excluded.)

Day 2: Nairobi to Maasai Mara 

After breakfast, you are transferred to the airport for your scenic flight to the world-famous Maasai Mara National Reserve. As you approach the Mara, the vast golden plains dotted with wildlife come into view, giving you a sense of the adventure awaiting you.Upon landing, you are driven to your lodge or camp for check-in. Take the late morning and early afternoon to refresh yourself and enjoy an early lunch, followed by some rest time.

Later in the afternoon, you depart for an evening game drive, the perfect time to catch predators beginning their nightly activity and herbivores grazing in the soft golden light. Elephants, lions, cheetahs, giraffes, and numerous plains game may all make an appearance. After enjoying the stunning Mara sunset, return to the lodge for your evening at leisure and overnight stay.

Day 3: Full-Day Game Drive with Picnic Lunch

After an early breakfast, embark on a full-day game drive exploring the vast expanses of the Maasai Mara. This day allows you to venture deeper into the reserve, reaching areas where wildlife is more concentrated and less disturbed. With your picnic lunch packed, you spend the day following animal tracks, observing herds of elephants and wildebeest, spotting predators resting in the shade, and enjoying the spectacular scenery that stretches endlessly in all directions.

Your guide will find a scenic spot often overlooking a river or beneath a lone acacia tree—where you’ll enjoy your picnic lunch while surrounded by the sights and sounds of the wild. Continue your exploration into the afternoon before returning to the lodge for an evening of relaxation.

Day 4: Another Full-Day Safari Adventure in the Mara

Your fourth day is dedicated once again to an extended full-day exploration of the Maasai Mara. The Mara’s landscapes and wildlife change constantly, and a second day offers the opportunity to witness scenes you might have missed the day before. You may visit hippo pools along the Mara River, track prides of lions, or watch elephants move elegantly across the plains. With another picnic lunch in the bush, you have the flexibility to travel far into the reserve, maximizing your chances of witnessing legendary wildlife encounters. After a long but rewarding day, return to your lodge or camp for a hearty dinner and restful night.

Day 5: Mara to Amboseli 

Enjoy an early breakfast before heading to the Serena Airstrip for your flight to Amboseli National Park, known for its massive elephant herds and iconic views of Mount Kilimanjaro. Upon arrival, you are transferred to your lodge, where you settle in and enjoy a delicious lunch.

The remainder of your day is free for relaxation unwind in the tranquil surroundings, take in the magnificent views, or enjoy optional lodge activities. As the sun sets behind Kilimanjaro’s snow-capped peak, have dinner at the lodge followed by a peaceful overnight stay.

Day 6: Half-Day Game Drive in Amboseli 

After an early breakfast, head out for a half-day game drive in Amboseli, exploring its open plains, marshes, and acacia woodland. From large tuskers and graceful giraffes to lions, cheetahs, and countless bird species, Amboseli’s wildlife diversity is impressive. You’ll roam the park until around 1:00 pm, taking in the dramatic scenery dominated by Africa’s highest mountain.

Return to the lodge for lunch, followed by an afternoon of rest and leisure. Whether you choose to enjoy the pool, relax at a viewing deck, or simply take in the peaceful environment, this is the perfect time to slow down after days of adventure. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 7: Amboseli to Nairobi

After breakfast, pack up and check out of the lodge. As you drive to the airstrip, enjoy a final game drive en route, giving you one last chance to spot animals grazing in the open plains of Amboseli. Upon reaching the airstrip, board your flight back to Nairobi, where you will connect to your onward journey home. This marks the end of your unforgettable 7-day safari adventure through Kenya’s most iconic wildlife destinations.
