Samburu National Reserve
Samburu National Reserve is situated 350 kilometers North of Nairobi in Samburu County. It is one of the two areas in which conservationists George & Joy Adamson raised Elsa: The Lioness made famous in the bestselling book and award-winning movie Born Free. The reserve is also the home of Kamunyak, a lioness famous for adopting oryx calves. In the middle of the reserve, the Ewaso Ng’iro flows through Dou palm groves and thick riverine forests which provides water to the game in this arid region. During the trip, we shall explore the reserves inspiring landscape where we expect to see some of the big five, Gerenuk, Reticulated Giraffe, Somali Ostrich, Grevy’s Zebra, Besia Oryx, and much more. Birdlife is prolific with over 450 species of birds recorded.
Lake Nakuru
Resting squarely on the floor of the Great Rift Valley and surrounded by the characteristic woody and bushy grassland, her sky mirrored lake waters extending to an expansive mass of semi-alkaline water, Lake Nakuru National Park is a ball of beautiful sights waiting to be explored. A wide ecological diversity, varied wildlife habitats, plant and animal species await the wild outdoor lovers.
The park is a uniquely rewarding game-viewing destination and a successful sanctuary for both the endangered black rhinos and white rhinos.
Masai Mara National Reserve
The Masai Mara features a stunning kaleidoscope of wild and rugged landscapes, warm and welcoming people and an exciting array of creatures – big and small. World famous for hosting the epic Great Migration, the Masai Mara welcomes 1.5 million wildebeests onto its sprawling savannahs each July through October. The Masai Mara National Reserve and conservancies are brimming with life and offer safari travelers a wide variety of activities to choose from. Whether you take to the skies for a high-flying hot-air balloon adventure at sunrise or hit the road for a 4x4 safari, you’re sure to leave the Masai Mara with unforgettable experiences and lifelong memories.
Lake Naivasha
Lake Naivasha is famous for its high populations of hippos and flamingos. There are over 1,500 hippos in the area, and you are almost guaranteed to see one. The lake is a birder’s paradise as it is home to over 400 bird species. Lesser and greater flamingos flock to the lake, forming a wash of bright pink across the lake's surface. Giraffes, zebras, impalas, and waterbucks can be sighted in the immediate vicinity of Lake Naivasha, around Crescent Island, Crater Lake Game Sanctuary, and Longonot National Park. Lucky adventurers may even glimpse a leopard.
Amboseli National Park
Situated in the southern region of Kenya, Amboseli National Park stands as a renowned wildlife conservation area, enticing visitors with its stunning rich biodiversity and stunning landscapes. It is a home to iconic wildlife, hosting four members of the Big Five, from lions to the graceful zebras and countless number of bird species in its swamps and wetlands.
Tsavo West/East National Park
Tsavo West National Park is the second largest protected area in Kenya and is famous for the man eater lions who to date carry a bizarre history long after they terrorized, maimed and killed construction workers of the Kenya-Uganda Railway in 1898. The railway construction was abruptly halted by the most voracious and insatiable man-eating lions.
Diani Beach
The unique white sand that adorns this beautiful beach is blindingly white and ultra-fine, which in low tide can stretch as far as 150 meters. Diani Beach is protected by a shallow lagoon followed by a coral reef that is located about 1km from the low water mark. Aside from providing protection from the ocean, these islands also provide ideal conditions for swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, kite surfing, and water sports like windsurfing and kiteboarding. The culture of the island not only revolves around beaches, but also active recreations. Across a wide range of ocean coasts, and just like on many other coastlines, stable winds provide good wave configurations. However, their height is significantly reduced by reefs, which are not very far from the shore.
