A Nairobi day tour offers a rare opportunity to experience the best of Kenya’s wildlife and conservation efforts without leaving the city. The adventure begins at Nairobi National Park, the only national park in the world set right on the edge of a bustling capital. Here, wide-open grasslands and acacia woodlands create a sanctuary for lions, rhinos, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, and over 400 bird species, all with Nairobi’s modern skyline in the background—a truly unforgettable sight. After an exciting game drive, the journey continues to the David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage, a world-renowned rescue and rehabilitation center for orphaned baby elephants. Visitors get the heartwarming chance to watch the young calves being fed, playing in the mud, and cared for by their keepers while learning about the conservation work that ensures their eventual release back into the wild. The tour then proceeds to the Giraffe Centre, home to the endangered Rothschild’s giraffe. Here, guests can feed these gentle giants by hand from raised platforms, enjoy up-close interactions, and learn about ongoing conservation efforts. To crown the day, you will enjoy an unforgettable dining experience at the Carnivore Restaurant, famous for its all-you-can-eat barbecue feast featuring a wide variety of meats roasted over charcoal and carved at your table, accompanied by delicious sides and vibrant ambiance. Together, these experiences capture the essence of Nairobi as a city where modern life, extraordinary wildlife, and world-class dining exist side by side, leaving visitors with lasting memories and a deeper appreciation of Kenya’s natural heritage.

Early morning pickup at your hotel at 5:00am takes you to Nairobi National Park for a scheduled entry at 06:30 hrs. Just a short drive from the city’s central business district, this park is a true gem where wide-open grass plains and scattered acacia bushes host a wide variety of wildlife against the backdrop of Nairobi’s skyline. Enjoy an early morning game drive in search of lions, rhinos, buffaloes, giraffes, and other species; the first hour after sunrise is the best time to catch big cats while they are still active. The game drive lasts up to 4 hours, ending around 10:30am, though the duration may vary depending on sightings.
After exiting the park, you will proceed to the David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage, which opens to visitors from 11:00am to 12:00 noon. Here, you will have the heartwarming experience of watching baby elephants being fed and playing in the mud, while learning about their rescue and rehabilitation journey.
From there, the tour continues to the Giraffe Centre. This sanctuary is home to the endangered Rothschild’s giraffe, and you will have the unique opportunity to feed them by hand from a raised platform, take photos, and even enjoy a giraffe kiss, while learning about giraffe conservation efforts.
After the visit, enjoy a memorable dining experience at the world-renowned Carnivore Restaurant. Once dinner is over, you will be dropped off at your hotel or residence, marking the end of your Nairobi day tour
